Conversations with more of this year’s winning teams from Ameren, Entergy with Enchanted Rock, Ontario Power Generation, and PG&E.

“In terms of energy consumption, I’m one of the largest customers in the U.S. I would like utilities to think of me as a partner in business, because I have several special authorities given by Congress that allow me to utilize my resources to help deliver these results, but in a business-like way.”

“My passion for these issues has grown over the course of the year, as has my belief that my experience as a state regulator is going to be valuable in Congress and the House. I’m excited to offer the perspective of a state regulator and to elevate the need to listen to state regulators and industry experts on matters of consequential energy policy.”

A conversation with Ameren CEO Marty Lyons, PUF’s Steve Mitnick, and Guidehouse’s Steve Waller.

Is the value proposition for all utility customers the same? A high-income household may expend one percent or even less of its total expenditures on electricity, whereas a low-income household may expend three or four percent, or even more.

“With the right policy and market development framework in place, regulators have an opportunity to accelerate the deployment of VPPs, improve grid reliability, reduce rate pressure on consumers, and make progress on decarbonization.”

“AEIC’s Achievement Awards are presented each year to member companies who have clearly demonstrated significant contributions to advancing operational excellence in the electric utility industry.”

“Over the past few years, I sat down with thought leaders to explore uncertainty as part of EEI International Programs’ Influential Minds series. These experts provided unique perspectives from their disciplines on how the energy industry can harness or overcome uncertainty to inform decision making and reach our goals.”

“EPRI has expanded its collaboration with DOE’s national labs. This work has included case studies to explore specific climate resilience research questions, joint publications, and a series of workshops.”

“The FCC certainly has an extensive to-do list. On the Broadband Internet Access Service provider side, an interesting question of what comes next for them is whether the FCC’s Open Internet Order will deter investment in broadband facilities and services.”
