The New York Public Service Commission denied an energy service company (ESCO) trade group's request to delay or curtail the scope of an ongoing investigation into the pricing of ESCO supply services provided to commercial and industrial (C&I) customers and associated ESCO profitability.
On a single day, the Kentucky Public Service Commission released a pair of decisions addressing new revenue levels for two sister energy utilities, Kentucky Utilities Company (KU) and Louisville Gas & Electric Company (LG&E). The two utilities had prosecuted their cases together, with each case being resolved by substantially similar settlements.
As the second quarter drew to a close and the summer season began, regulatory officials around the country continued their reviews of utility rate plans. As has become the norm, many of the commission decisions reported below rested on settlement proposals.
