The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners has a new Executive Director in the experienced and well-respected Tony Clark. He took over from Greg White, who retired at the end of 2024.

Clark is well known in the regulatory and energy communities, having served as a FERC Commissioner from 2012 - 2016. Prior to that, he served as Commissioner and Chair of the North Dakota Public Service Commission, and as NARUC President from November 2010 to November 2011.

With all that experience and more, Clark is ready to lead NARUC forward, having been involved with NARUC for some twenty-five years. Public Utilities Fortnightly's Paul Kjellander, former Idaho Commission and NARUC President, spoke with Clark about what to expect as he takes over an Association that has been informing public utility regulation since 1889.

PUF's Paul Kjellander: Tony, you've been a state regulator, President of NARUC, a Federal Energy Regulatory Commissioner, a consultant, and now taking on the challenge of Executive Director of NARUC. Has your past service helped inform this next chapter?

Tony Clark: It does. It feels like coming back home, in some ways. I've been involved with NARUC for almost twenty-five years.
