Sandhya Ganapathy is the CEO of EDP Renewables North America.
This issue, we turn the spotlight on Exelon, the nations' largest energy delivery company, Amazon Web Services, the world's most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud, and EDP Renewables, the fourth largest producer worldwide. It is the second taste brought to you by the PUF team of what was experienced in Houston at CERAWeek by S&P Global.
Enjoy this conversation with EDP Renewables' Sandhya Ganapathy.
PUF's Steve Mitnick: What is your role within EDP Renewables North America, and what is a typical day like?
Sandhya Ganapathy: It's an interesting job, given what I have done in my career so far. Prior to joining EDP Renewables, I was an investment banker. Now, I've been with the company for eleven years.
In my first ten years with EDPR, everything for me was mergers and acquisitions, of which the first six years was focused on North America. In 2017, I started running M&A for the entire group. Today, we are present in twenty-eight countries.
Since January 2022, I took over as CEO of EDP Renewables North America, and this is the most fun job I've had in my time here. On one side of it, I get to do the quintessential CEO role of setting strategy for the company, and for how we look at our activities for the foreseeable future.
