EDF RE

Google signed a deal with EDF Renewable Energy (EDF RE) to purchase renewable energy for its data center. The PPA will provide Google with the full output of the 201-MW Great Western Wind Project located in Woodward and Ellis counties near the base of the Oklahoma panhandle. The project will commence construction in the first quarter of 2016 and be fully operational by end of the year. Great Western will be comprised of 30 V117 (unit capacity of 3.3 MW) and 51 V100 (unit capacity of 2.2 MW) wind turbines supplied by Vestas.

Via its subsidiary EDF Renewable Energy (EDF RE), the EDF Group entered into a partnership with Procter & Gamble (P&G) to supply electricity to all North American manufacturing sites for P&G laundry and household products using wind energy. The electricity sold to P&G, within the context of a long-term PPA, will be generated by a wind power farm due to go into operation at the end of 2016 in Cooke County, Texas.

EDF Renewable Energy (EDF RE) closed the acquisition of OwnEnergy - a national developer of mid-sized wind projects. The transaction encompasses 100% of OwnEnergy's assets, including its pipeline of future wind projects. These projects represent 329 MW of developed wind energy assets sold to third parties.
