Building and maintaining an innovative utility culture must be intentional acts. An innovative utility culture simply does not happen without passion and commitment from the utility's senior leadership. 

One of the utilities that realized this early on is Exelon, the company that provides utility service to Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Atlantic City, Wilmington, and areas around those cities. The company created a team to be laser-focused on this mission, to build and maintain an innovative culture. 

A leader of that team, Ankush Agarwal, talked with Public Utilities Fortnightly about how he got there and what he thinks about and does to keep the innovation going. He is an award-winner in innovation and has much to say on this important topic.
