MACRUC held its Annual Education Conference in late June in Louisville, Kentucky. At that meeting, MACRUC President and Kentucky Chair Kent Chandler gave the gavel to Virginia Chair Jehmal Hudson as the Regional Association's new leader.

There is an adage about if you want something done to give it to a busy person. That defines new MACRUC President Jehmal Hudson, who is also that region's nominee for NARUC Second Vice President to enter the NARUC hierarchy.

Chair Hudson is used to carrying a heavy workload, for he was the lone Judge for quite some time at the Virginia State Corporation Commission, an agency that handles much more than energy and utilities companies. At NARUC, he Chairs the Committee on Energy Resource and the Environment, serves on the board of directors, and recently was appointed to fill a vacancy on the executive committee. He discussed leadership issues with former Idaho Chair and PUF's Paul Kjellander.

 

PUF's Paul Kjellander: You just became president of MACRUC, and as the new leader of this regional organization, what are the highest priorities as you take on this role?
