MARC
Dan Scripps is immediate past president of MARC, the Mid-America Regulatory Conference, and Chair of the Michigan Public Service Commission. He is President of the Organization of MISO States, serves on the Board of Directors of NARUC, and also serves on the Joint Federal-State Task Force on Electric Transmission.
Michigan Chair Dan Scripps is busy. You may have seen him in August running around at the Mid-America Regulatory Conference Annual Meeting in Grand Rapids, where he was serving as President and pulled in many directions.
He is President of the Organization of MISO States, serves on the Board of Directors of NARUC, and on the Joint Federal-State Task Force on Electric Transmission. The list goes on, so it is fortunate that PUF's Paul Kjellander, former NARUC President, who also knows what it is like to be busy, caught up to Chair Scripps in Grand Rapids, to talk about a myriad of subjects as he wrapped his term as MARC President.
MARC covers a large and diverse region, so there is much going on in the regulatory arena and a lot of that ground is covered here. Find out in this engaging discussion how those varied states are aiming for reliability in changing times.
PUF's Paul Kjellander: What is your title?
Chair Dan Scripps: I'm the Chair of the Michigan Public Service Commission. Also, as of yesterday, I'm the immediate past president of the Mid-America Regulatory Conference.
PUF: The logo says MARC 2020, but the last part of 2020 is crossed out and you have '23. It's been a long time coming to Michigan, hasn't it?
