LDES, a Key to the Energy Transition

In a series of forums on the commercialization and deployment of breakthrough clean energy technologies that reduce carbon emissions, the latest Edison Electric Institute conference concerned long duration energy storage. The attendees gathered at Morgan Stanley headquarters in New York, and the speakers and panelists focused on the most compelling technologies, financial investment supporting them, and strategies to deploy them in the grid across the nation.
And a new acronym was born at the conference. Long duration energy storage is now LDES for short. The acronym is pronounced L for Long, and DES for Duration Energy Storage. Which notably rhymes with YES.
