NARUC Annual Meeting
Moderator Jason Stanek is Chair of the Maryland Public Service Commission. Kristine Raper is a Commissioner at the Idaho Public Utilities Commission. Andrew French is Chair of the Kansas Corporation Commission. Matthew Nelson is Chair of the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities. Riley Allen is a Commissioner at the Vermont Public Utility Commission. Kimberly Duffley is a Commissioner at the North Carolina Utilities Commission. Gladys Brown Dutrieuille is Chair of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission. Dan Scripps is Chair of the Michigan Public Service Commission. Clifford Rechtschaffen is a Commissioner at the California Public Utilities Commission. Ted Thomas is Chair of the Arkansas Public Service Commission.
Members of the FERC-NARUC Task Force on Electric Trans-mission held a panel and discussed holding its first meeting as NARUC's Annual Meeting and Education Conference came to a close. The members shared their priorities for the work of the task force and views on what they hope the task force can accomplish.
The Task Force is made up of all FERC Commissioners and ten State Commissioners, with two from each NARUC region: Chair Gladys Brown Dutrieuille, Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission; Chair Jason Stanek, Maryland Public Service Commission; Chair Andrew French, Kansas Corporation Commission; Chair Dan Scripps, Michigan Public Service Commission; Commissioner Riley Allen, Vermont Public Utility Commission; Chair Matthew Nelson, Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities; Commissioner Kimberly Duffley, North Carolina Utilities Commission; Chair Ted Thomas, Arkansas Public Service Commission; Commissioner Kristine Raper, Idaho Public Utilities Commission; and Commissioner Clifford Rechtschaffen, California Public Utilities Commission.
Chair, Maryland Public Service Commission, and Moderator, Jason Stanek: This is a very important day in regulatory history. In the Summer of this year, FERC used Section 209 of the Federal Power Act to invoke this joint task force committee that will be meeting officially later this afternoon at one p.m.
