The AABE 2021 National Con-ference, Connecting the Dots, closed after three compelling days with remarks by interim CEO Ralph Cleveland. He summed up where AABE had been over the conference proceedings and where AABE is going. He told everyone to mark their calendars for May 2022 when AABE will convene in Florida.

Interim CEO, Association of Blacks in Energy, Ralph Cleveland: Through this pandemic, I have been struck by the truth that tomorrow isn't promised to any of us. There are no guarantees and therefore, don't leave things unsaid.
Why, what, and how. You see, why always proceeds what, and what should always proceed how. So first, the why. Why do I care so much about this endeavor?
As Lincoln penned and delivered in the Gettysburg address, a new nation was brought forth on this continent, a nation conceived in Liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.
As penned in the Declaration of Independence, we hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal, and that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights. Among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
