The 2021 NARUC Winter Policy Summit was held virtually and presided over by President Paul Kjellander. The Summit was an online success, with well attended sessions and panels on a slew of fascinating topics.
The industry has been talking about the potential of green hydrogen — using renewable electricity to separate hydrogen from water molecules — to contribute to decarbonization goals in the electric power, industrial, and transportation sectors. In July 2020, the U.S. Department of Energy released a federal hydrogen strategy to achieve a low-carbon economy. Is green hydrogen going to be hype or the decarbonization answer? Panelists were led by NARUC President Paul Kjellander to close out the conference. Enjoy these excerpts.

Among them, Jeff Ackermann, who was Chair of the Energy Resources and the Environment Committee, Eric Anderson from the Committee on Water, Diane Burman with the Committee on Gas, and Maida Coleman with Committee on Consumers and the Public Interest.
