Steve Mitnick is President of Lines Up, Inc., Editor-in-Chief of Public Utilities Fortnightly, and author of “Lines Down: How We Pay, Use, Value Grid Electricity Amid the Storm.”
The PUF team was in the audience — virtually of course — at the American Public Power Association's leadership summit on the eleventh of August. The summit featured utility leader after utility leader talking about how they lead and why. After it was over, we wanted more.
So, with the cooperation of APPA, we subsequently scheduled with some of the leaders who spoke. Check out the interviews herein with the CEO of Tacoma Public Utilities, Jackie Flowers, the CEO of Missouri River Energy Services, Tom Heller, and the General Manager of Chelan County Public Utility District, Steve Wright. In next month's issue of Public Utilities Fortnightly, there will be a fourth of these interviews, with the CEO of Seattle City Light, Debra Smith.
