Commissioner
Tyler Huebner is a Commissioner for the Wisconsin Public Service Commission.
PUF's Steve Mitnick: What's your typical day like right now, as a Commissioner?
Commissioner Huebner: I don't think I've had a typical day yet. I started and went into the office for five days. We had an open meeting that Thursday with a number of agenda items. I started reading the public materials before I got in and got the full Commissioner's briefings that Tuesday and Wednesday and made decisions Thursday.
I went back in that Friday and worked on HR matters and getting myself set up in the system. I went in the next Monday to finish my IT set up. Then I've been at home since March 23, about a month now. It's just different.
One thing I've found is working at home is different depending on the makeup of your family. If you've got no kids at home or if you've got high schoolers that are more self-sufficient, it's a different situation.
I've got a seven-year old and a four and a half-year old. It's a mix of getting work done, attempting to be their teacher, and being a parent. I've learned to understand what an equalizer going into an office space is. When we're there together, everybody's focused on getting the work done and you can have informal conversations.
