PUF spoke with leaders from AABE, Ameren, Evergy, Exelon, Southern Company, and Burns & McDonnell about diversity spend and diversity in the workplace, what they are doing to promote inclusion, and why it is crucial to the success of their companies. Read on to learn more about these fascinating issues, the challenges, and where they see their initiatives going in the future.

PUF's Joe Paparello: What is your role at Exelon?

Bridget Reidy: I am the chief operating officer for the Exelon Business Services company. My responsibilities include our supply organization, real estate, transportation, IT and corporate security, which includes the cybersecurity and physical security functions.

PUF: For your role in the diversity and inclusion event, is that on diversity spend, or are you also involved in diversity within the workforce at Exelon?

Bridget Reidy: I am responsible for Exelon's relationships with diverse suppliers through the supply organization. Prior to the role that I'm currently in, I was the chief supply officer for quite a long time. During that time, we created the Exelon Diverse Business Empowerment (EDBE) organization. That organization is responsible for facilitating partnerships that help diverse business enterprises develop and grow and in turn help us better serve our customers and communities.
