NARUC Annual Meeting
Steve Mitnick is President of Lines Up, Inc., Editor-in-Chief of Public Utilities Fortnightly, and author of “Lines Down: How We Pay, Use, Value Grid Electricity Amid the Storm.”
You had to be in San Antonio at NARUC's Annual Meeting. The PUF team was there too, asking the PUF Question of the Day, each day of the conference. And we handed out fun buttons to those gracious attendees who answered. Greg Bollom of Madison Gas and Electric must have wanted to collect them, because he answered PUF's Question of the Day on each of the three days! You'll enjoy reading the answers and seeing what attendees homed in on at NARUC's always awesome and well-attended annual meeting.
On the second day, we asked, Have you used ideas discussed at prior NARUC meetings back home? Any examples?
Chair Dallas Winslow, Delaware PSC
That's the reason I come to these meetings because you get the ideas from all the other states and bring them home. Generally speaking, I make up a list of all of the things I hear as I go along.
For example, I listened with great interest to Maryland, Wyoming, other states, what they're doing, one of which was financing for storm restoration, taking that back to Delaware for consideration. There are always ideas percolating and of course I like to see the exhibitors and the vendors because often there'll be publications by someone that is informative.
