The PUF team traveled to Des Moines, Iowa, the home of the Iowa Utilities Board, which got its start in 1878 as the Iowa Board of Railroad Commissioners, and later the Iowa State Commerce Commission.

PUF: The Iowa Board has three Members. As Chair of the Board, how do the three Members work together?

Chair Huser: We work really well together. I've worked with Board Member Dick Lozier for about two and a half years, and I knew him prior to being on the Utilities Board. Board Member Wagner I've known for a lot longer. We worked across party lines in the Iowa Legislature, so it added to the unique characteristics of the Board by having both of us here.

When Libby [Elizabeth Jacobs, former Board Member] was here, Libby, Nick and I all previously served together in the Iowa house. I like to rub it in that I am more fiscally conservative than Nick is. He loves hearing that.

PUF: As Chair of the Board, you have added responsibilities.
