Director for Electric and Gas
Faith Huntington is Director of Electricity and Natural Gas Division for the Maine Public Utilities Commission.
Steve Mitnick is Editor-in-Chief of Public Utilities Fortnightly and President of Lines Up, Inc.
PUF: Describe your role here.
Faith Huntington: I oversee and work on most of the major electric and natural gas cases. I have a staff of analysts in my division, which is the electricity and natural gas division. We come from varied backgrounds and areas of expertise such as finance, economics, and engineering.
The analysts work closely with the attorneys in the legal division. With respect to workload, it's typical to have many cases, and sometimes many large cases, ongoing at the same time.
PUF: Do you coordinate everyone's work?
Faith Huntington: The division directors like myself are not strictly managers. We're a part of the teams that work on the cases on a day-to-day basis. However, as a manager, I make assignments to cases, balancing the workloads of the staff in the divisions, and making sure that each case has a team that has the expertise and strengths that are needed.
