PUF: What's EZ-EV?

Mike Kurzeja: We're here to enhance the adoption of electric vehicles. Our customers have told us over and over that what they want is clean energy, and this is kind of an extension of that. Exelon is the largest producer of zero-carbon energy, so if we can get more people to switch to EVs, then we can power our transportation system with cleaner options.

That's our mission, to electrify transportation at a consumer level. There's a lot happening in fleets, but that's not what we're focused on. We're focused on helping consumers make the transition and we've tailored all our programs to solve the consumer problems. There is a tension system at work which we are trying to address.

There are factors pushing consumers to make the switch, and then you have barriers on the other side holding them back. We work on both sides of that tension system. We remove barriers.

Issues like a bad dealership experience, lack of knowledge, we remove those barriers. At the same time, we produce incentives as well to move consumers along. Maybe it's working with auto OEMs with dealers, getting special discounts, or working with local utilities.
