NARUC President Ann Rendahl leaves office after the 2026 NARUC Annual Meeting and Education Conference from November 8-11 in Puerto Rico. Throughout a year marked by complex industry shifts, including increased demand from data centers and rising rate pressures, President Rendahl prioritized fostering nonpartisan dialogue, shared learning, and fellowship among state utility commissioners.
The overriding theme of her leadership, “Uniting Regulators, Harmonizing Impact,” was year one of the three-year theme, with the additional theme of “Advancing Reliable and Resilient Infrastructure.” Under her direction, NARUC strengthened its mission as a central forum where state regulators can navigate competing demands surrounding reliability, resilience, and affordability despite varying state politics and regional policies.
To ensure NARUC remains resilient and effective amid evolving industry dynamics, President Rendahl also spearheaded a comprehensive update to NARUC’s core governance documents that had not undergone a major review in over two decades. She leaves NARUC financially stable, structurally modernized, and positioned for continued national and international engagement under incoming leadership of First Vice President and Virginia Commissioner Jehmal Hudson and Second Vice President and Minnesota Chair Katie Sieben.
