Burns & McDonnell held its Transmission Symposium with the theme, Power Progress, at its World Headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri from April 29 – May 1. The informative symposium focused on exploring challenges, regulations, trends, and innovative ideas in the electrical transmission industry.

Because there are few industry-level opportunities to explore the details of electrical transmission, this symposium provided opportunities to discuss and learn from practical experience. The event was well attended by engineers and managers in the electric transmission industry.

PUF’s Steve Mitnick: What’s your role at Burns & McDonnell?

Chih-Hung Chen: I started out in the Transmission & Distribution group in our Kansas City office. When we opened a new office in Calgary, Alberta, I relocated there to help get things off the ground. It was originally tied to a five-year EPC program, which was later extended another five years, so I ended up spending a total of ten years in Canada.
