PG&E won the Fortnightly Top Innovator 2024 award ''Mabel McFerran Top Innovator in Storage'' for its Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) Technology.

 

PUF's Steve Mitnick: Describe the innovation and its positive impact.

Sarah Swickard: This is our Vehicle-to-Everything Pilot. We have two; one focused on residential customers and one on commercial customers. Kristin leads our residential pilot, and Rudi leads our commercial pilot.

These pilots are providing incentives to customers who are adopting and installing bidirectional vehicle systems, so the electric vehicle as well as the charging system provide backup power to a home or to a business and/or export power to the grid. We launched these pilots in 2023 and have begun to get customers enrolled.
