Exelon - Pepco won the Fortnightly Top Innovator 2024 award ''Maria Telkes Top Innovator in Distributed Energy'' for its Electric Bus Microgrid.

Andrew Bayne: I am a principal business program manager for PHI's Smart Grid department and oversee the portfolio of battery energy storage programs and projects in our territory.

In 2020, as part of Public Conference 44, the Maryland PSC passed the Maryland Energy Storage Pilot Program or MESP. That was the launching point for the Brookville Smart Energy Bus Depot in Pepco Maryland, where Pepco utilized the concept as a catalyst to build a stronger partnership toward meeting Maryland's sustainability goals.
