NARUC holds three big meetings a year, which are quite popular and well attended. It also has five regional associations, which hold annual meetings, usually in May and June.

Those five are: Mid-America Regulatory Conference (MARC), Mid-Atlantic Conference of Regulatory Utilities Commissions (MACRUC), New England Conference of Public Utilities Commissioners (NECPUC), Southeastern Association of Regulatory utility Commissioners (SEARUC), and Western Conference of Public Service Commissioners (Western).

PUF's Paul Kjellander, former Idaho Commission Chair, ran around the country recently to attend three of these meetings and talked with outgoing SEARUC President Floyd McKissick on his accomplishments and incoming MARC President Sarah Freeman on what to expect in 2025.

PUF's Paul Kjellander: Your recent SEARUC meeting was held in Asheville, North Carolina, near the Biltmore, one of the first homes to have electricity. It stands as a monument to how the role of energy and electricity have changed.
