Con Edison
Britt Reichborn-Kjennerud is Director of E-Mobility at Con Edison.
Con Edison's PowerReady program workforce is building New York City's largest residential electric vehicle charging project at Hilltop Village Cooperative, an apartment complex in Queens. It marks part of the utility's efforts to decarbonize the Empire State, as exhaust from cars, trucks, and buses represents one of the largest sources of carbon emissions across the country.
Through Con Edison's PowerReady program, and in partnership with DVM Industries, incentives are being used to support upgrading Hilltop Village Cooperative's electric infrastructure and making the site suitable for Level 2 electric vehicle charging stations. These upgrades aim to make the transition to electric vehicles more affordable for station operators and drivers.
PowerReady is currently the largest utility EV charging infrastructure program in the country. It's a big deal and so Public Utilities Fortnightly's Steve Mitnick discussed the gigantic make-ready program with Con Edison's Director of E-Mobility, Britt Reichborn-Kjennerud.
PUF's Steve Mitnick: At the Hilltop Village Cooperative apartments, you're installing four hundred twenty-three Level 2 chargers. That's a big number.
Britt Reichborn-Kjennerud: Yes. This is an exciting project, and it stands out for us, as well. This all is possible because of our PowerReady make-ready incentive program.
