Innovation is everywhere in the energy and utilities industry, which is great, as much is needed to accomplish decarbonization goals. To enable transmission to get there, an Australian company, Infravision, is on the cutting edge of grid modernization with drone-enabled power line upgrades.

Infravision is coming to America, with a manufacturing facility in Austin, Texas, and just secured 23 million dollars in Series A financing. That was led by investment firm, Energy Impact Partners, with participation from leading energy and utilities players, including Equinor Ventures and Edison International.

Public Utilities Fortnightly discusses this journey with CEO Cameron Van Der Berg and Director Christopher Cox, cofounders, and how they developed a drone hardware and software technology system that installs and upgrades power lines. You will also hear from Energy Impact Partners' Evan Pittman and Edison International Edison Managing Director of Strategy, Technology, and Innovation, Sergej Mahnovski.
