A trio of heavy hitters, but more important, experts, Power Systems Manufacturing President Alex Hoffs, S&C Electric CEO Anders Sjoelin, and Itron CEO Tom Deitrich bring you inside the latest advancements in the clean energy revolution.
 

PUF's Steve Mitnick: You are seeing some trends in the industry, so talk about them in order. What would you put first?

Anders Sjoelin: One of the biggest trends in our industry is the energy transition. We see a growing demand for electricity, and there is a need for investment to manage that demand and the transition to clean energy.

To begin with, COVID accelerated our dependency on reliable electricity. Now, many people work from home. We spend more time in our houses during the day and rely on electricity for our internet, cell phones, home health care, et cetera.

Not only has our dependence on reliable power increased, but we are using more electricity at different times than we used to before. How we work, operate, and consume electricity now changes the load pattern and needs to be reflected in how we think about the grid.
