The Edison Electric Institute has been briefing Wall Street annually on the electric industry's outlook. This year, EEI instead held the briefing at NASDAQ, the exchange where the stock of an increasing number of utilities are trading. The five senior leaders of the association of investor-owned utilities, celebrating its ninetieth anniversary in 2023, went through in detail what lies ahead, as well as the industry's recent track record. Public Utilities Fortnightly was there, of course, and herein we provide you all our selected excerpts, so you can almost say you were there too.
 

EEI President Tom Kuhn: I am very, very proud that over the last two years we have worked on major legislation that has passed. That I think is going to give us lots of new tools and technologies to help do the job we need to do in the future.

Last year I talked to you about the bipartisan infrastructure legislation. Again, this is a major piece of legislation I think is going to help our customers and our nation. We're leading our industry through the implementation of that important legislation.
