This year, DistribuTECH International had a theme of "Experience the Energy Movement," with thirteen educational tracks and a massive exposition floor holding over five hundred booths. The PUF team met up with innovators making a difference with emerging technologies useful to the grid space.
PUF's Steve Mitnick: What is Bentley and why are you at Distributech?
Joe Travis: Bentley is a software company primarily focused on the infrastructure industries.
We're focused on the world of infrastructure, and my solution area focuses on talk about electric, gas, water, and transportation. Bentley has a variety of software offerings for sub-industries under the infrastructure umbrella.
At Distributech, we're focused on the electric industry and talk about everything from generation through transmission, substations, and distribution. It's from the collecting of the electron to turn a turbine for the steam to make electricity, or capturing it from the sun, all the way through to consumption on the meter on the house, at a point of business, or the residential community.
PUF: Brad, what do you do and what are the software applications on the electric side?
