The United States Energy Association's Annual State of the Energy Industry Forum brought together the heads of twenty energy industry associations in January. Herein are excerpts from the presentation by Edison Electric Institute President Tom Kuhn.
 

Last year, virtually, I talked a lot about the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill and all the great things that were coming out of that. We spent a lot of time this year on its implementation, and I think it's providing some tremendous benefits, but we have a lot more work to do.

What we did this last year was concentrate on the energy tax credits that were part of the Inflation Reduction Act. Once again, we mobilized our members. Our CEOs were very much engaged in hundreds of congressional visits, meetings with the President and administration, and others, governors, mayors, et cetera.

That Bill, as it went through the Congress, went through significant changes. But it ended up with tax credits that I think are going to propel additional low carbon technologies. And the idea is that those tax credits flow directly through the customers. They are a way to reduce cost to the customers. I think that's incredibly significant.

We have much more to do. So, what is the agenda this year? ...
