ACORE
Kevin O’Rourke is VP at ACORE, the American Council on Renewable Energy.
The American Council on Renewable Energy, ACORE for short, is a national nonprofit organization uniting finance, policy, and technology to accelerate the transition to a renewable energy economy. In that light, it has a new report on interregional transmission for offshore wind.
That report makes the case for the urgent need for regional and interregional transmission planning solutions for offshore wind. It explains the necessity for agencies to work together to integrate these offshore facilities into a planned grid for the future, by recommending that procurements with individual radial links to shore require network-ready or meshed designs for these radial interconnection facilities.
Kevin O'Rourke, ACORE's VP, Strategic Partnerships and Public Affairs, discussed the collaboration necessary with PUF's Steve Mitnick for transmission planning to take place. That and much more is talked about here.
PUF's Steve Mitnick: A lot of organizations are involved in this report. Why is this report so important industry-wide?
