Pennsylvania PUC Chair Gladys Brown Dutrieuille is president of NARUC’s Mid-Atlantic region, MACRUC. Paul Kjellander is Senior Advisor at Public Utilities Fortnightly.
Chair Gladys Brown Dutrieuille of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission does a lot of heavy lifting wherever she goes. It's a big job to be Chair of the Commission in the Keystone State, but she does so much more.
Brown Dutrieuille is a true public servant. She served as Chair of NARUC's Critical Infrastructure Committee, CoChair of the Presidential Task Force on Transportation, and as a member of the Task Force on Emergency Preparedness, Recovery and Resiliency she serves as Chair of the Black Sky subcommittee. She also serves on the Joint Federal-State Task Force on Electric Transmission. There is a saying, "if you want something done, ask a busy person."
That is true here, as Brown Dutrieuille steps into her new position as President of the Mid-Atlantic Conference of Regulatory Utilities Commissioners or MACRUC. PUF's Paul Kjellander caught up with her at MACRUC's 27th Education Conference in late June at Nemacolin Woodlands to talk about this leadership role.
PUF's Paul Kjellander: As you come in as president of MACRUC, what does it mean to be in a leadership role in one of these regional organizations? How heavy of a lift can that be?
