A unique conference, Reuters Global Energy Transition 2022, united CEOs and changemakers from the energy, industrial, and government ecosystems. It gathered them to shed light on the defining issue of our time, and help companies meet the difficult challenge of climate change.

The conference aimed at actionable items with cross-sector conversations among experts who might not normally be speaking with each other. PUF was there too, and talked with some of the senior executives after they left the stage at this major international event.

PUF's Steve Mitnick: Why is CenterPoint at this event? Why was it important to come to New York City?

Gregg Knight: It's because the energy transition is going to be a cornerstone of the paradigm shift that we're going through as utilities. If you look at hydrogen, carbon capture, and some of the participants in these kinds of sessions, they're going to drive the way that the grid supports their transition to new energy.

For example, Houston serves the largest concentration of manufacturers and providers of those products. We're having conversations with them about how that transition will impact the grid.
