NARUC
Washington Utilities and Transportation Commissioner Ann Rendahl was elected by the West region to become NARUC’s next Second Vice President.
Former NARUC President Paul Kjellander, also former Idaho PUC President, is Senior Advisor at Public Utilities Fortnightly.
When you want something done, ask a busy person to do it. That saying is apropos for Commissioners Ann Rendahl, Carrie Zalewski, and Eric Skrmetta, who all have much going on in their leadership roles.
Washington UTC Commissioner Ann Rendahl has served on many councils, committees, bodies, you name it, and earned the respect of her colleagues, so, it is no surprise she is now in line to become President of NARUC. Former NARUC President and Idaho Chair Paul Kjellander spoke with Rendahl about what is unique.
PUF's Paul Kjellander: You're a Commissioner from the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission. After your election at the Western Conference of Public Service Commissioners, you are now nominated as the second Vice President from the western region who will move up the ranks to be President of NARUC.
Commissioner Ann Rendahl: I'm honored to have been nominated by the west to be elected as the Second Vice President of NARUC at the annual meeting in November and to join Commissioner Julie Fedorchak [NARUC First VP, N.D. Commissioner] and Chair Tricia Pridemore [NARUC Second VP, Georgia Chair] to help lead the NARUC organization. I'm excited, thrilled, and humbled to be so supported by my western colleagues.
PUF: What are you seeing in the west? What are trends that may emerge as bigger issues to help resolve some of the broader problems?
