Steve Mitnick is President of Lines Up, Inc., Executive Editor of Public Utilities Fortnightly, and co-author of a new book, “Front Lines to Power Lines.”
The Edison Electric Institute does this every year. In 2021, the EEI Index Awards were given to the CEOs of NextEra Energy, Ameren, and Otter Tail Power at the association’s annual financial conference in mid-November.
The utilities with the highest total shareholder return in the largecap, mid-cap, and small-cap categories receive this honor and this year that was, respectively, Florida-based NextEra, Missouri-based Ameren, and Minnesota-based Otter Tail Power. Their CEOs, Jim Robo, Warner Baxter, and Chuck MacFarlane were there to accept on behalf of their companies and employees.
