Peter Gurnham is Chair of the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board. Moderator Paula Conboy is former member of the Ontario Energy Board and former Chair of the Australian Energy Regulator. She currently sits on the boards of the PJM Interconnection and the Singapore Energy Market Authority.

Featured here is Chair of the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board, Peter Gurnham, a mainstay in Canadian regulation for many years. In fact, he has spent almost twenty years as Chair and announced his upcoming retirement in March 2022.

Chair, Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board, Peter Gurnham: There are four or five things that have changed particularly over the time period I've been Chair, but it extends to the period I represented Nova Scotia's largest utility here at the Board.
The first is technology, which may be kind of a funny one to start with, but it's worked for us in a couple of ways, for example, recently with COVID, the fact that we were technologically proficient has allowed us to conduct hearings, almost seamlessly, as we went from in-person hearings to virtual hearings.
