Electrification 2021
Neva Espinoza is EPRI's vice president for energy supply and low-carbon resources.
In this issue, the PUF team brings you memorable moments from discussions on A Net-Zero Energy System for All, looking at updating the grid for an electrified economy and solving the most difficult decarbonization challenges, with unprecedented resiliency for everyone. Also presented is a conversation with EPRI's vice president for energy supply and low-carbon resources, Neva Espinoza, who ties the last Forum together.
PUF's Steve Mitnick: Tell us about this conference, the last of the third Electrification 2021 Conferences. It almost has two missions. You're mostly focused on one, and then Rob Chapman on the other.
Neva Espinoza: The third day of this three-day series was focused on the opportunity of low-carbon resources in the energy economy. In this context, when we talk about low-carbon resources, we're primarily focused on hydrogen, ammonia, synthetic fuels, and biofuels.
We rounded out the conference focused on how those resources potentially play a role in decarbonization, how they tied to electrification, and then what are different ways to accelerate, not just their development, but implementation of low-carbon resources and electrification into this global energy economy as we move forward. It was a great way to wrap up the 2021 Electrification Virtual Series.
