Utility leaders faced multiple challenges in 2020, including a pandemic, civil unrest, extreme weather events, and cybersecurity incidents. This panel of industry leaders at American Public Power Association's National Conference found new ways to manage simultaneous crises while still inspiring and motivating others. Each CEO reflected on how his or her experience from the past year reshaped their views on crisis response and what it means to be resilient. Enjoy these memorable moments.

Chair, American Public Power Association, and CEO, American Municipal Power, Jolene Thompson: Let's get to our panel discussion on resilience and response, featuring three high profile electric industry CEOs. Our industry and its leaders have faced multiple challenges and competing crises over the past year. 

This is the first time I can remember that APPA has brought the heads of the three national groups together in this format. While we have different business models and differences of opinion on certain matters, we share a number of common experiences and interests.

President, Edison Electric Institute, Tom Kuhn: It's a whole lot more effective if we can find a way to work together on issues because when we bring the entire industry together, it makes a major difference.
