The pandemic didn't stop these luminaries from the energy and utilities space from innovating in all types of technologies. Ninety individuals sprang into action, creating new tools or strategies to better serve their colleagues and communities. This year, PUF is celebrating these ninety Under Forties.
PUF's Steve Mitnick: What is your job at Entergy Texas and what do you do on a typical day?
Jace Carlock: I'm the Manager of Distribution Reliability. Our team's sole focus is to look for ways to improve reliability for our customers. This involves looking for ways to not only reduce the number of outages affecting customers, but also the duration of outages affecting customers.
We take a data-driven approach to our investments to improve reliability. This involves looking at a broad range of data to help us identify key areas for improvement. My typical day involves utilizing outage reports to visualize data to drive projects and business decisions, to help rank and prioritize projects.
My team is responsible for identifying projects that will help us improve our system in a strategic, targeted way. At the end of the day, it's about developing solutions to improve reliability for our customers.
PUF: How were you able to progress to be given this important responsibility?
