Hawaiian Electric
Aki Marceau is Director of Electrification of Transportation at Hawaiian Electric.
The pandemic didn't stop these luminaries from the energy and utilities space from innovating in all types of technologies. Ninety individuals sprang into action, creating new tools or strategies to better serve their colleagues and communities. This year, PUF is celebrating these ninety Under Forties.
PUF's Steve Mitnick: You're the director of the electrification of transportation at Hawaiian Electric. What do you do in your job?
Aki Marceau: I oversee our overall strategy, design, and deployment of electric vehicle programs for Hawaiian Electric. We cover a five-island service territory, so it's every major island except for Kauai.
In most regions, it's a community effort. We work hand in hand with our state and county partners, as well as private industry, and nonprofit advocacy, to make sure we're all in communication, and are designing the best system that makes sense for Hawaii.
My background's in urban planning, so transportation planning. I work from a systems-wide perspective, and systems design.
