President
Paul Kjellander is President of the Idaho Public Utilities Commission.
Conversations with three Commissioners, some members of Staff, and two illustrious recently-retired regulators from the Gem State.
PUF's Steve Mitnick: How is it working these days, not only being the President of the Commission, but also being First Vice President of NARUC, during this coronavirus crisis?
President Kjellander: Working remotely is something that, as I was looking ahead to moving up to be President of the National Association, I was going to have to be able to do a lot more of, and be a lot better at it, because of the amount of travel that I was anticipating I would have during that presidency. In some respects, this helped reassure me that I could play that role at the National Association without shirking my responsibilities back home.
I don't know what travel is going to look like over the next year or so, but that certainly was a concern. So there have been some silver linings with respect to having an opportunity to better learn how to integrate the technology into performing essential business tasks.
