Allow me to introduce Casey Herman. You might not have heard of Casey before. But he's the leader of one of the utilities industry's largest accounting, tax, and consulting practices.

And so, he's in the perfect position to tell us how the industry is coping with the current coronavirus crisis.

At PwC, he's Leader of the US Power & Utilities Practice, and in his spare time, he's also the Co-leader of the even larger US Energy, Utilities & Mining Practice. In normal times, Casey is always on the road and difficult to catch up with. Though these are hardly normal times. The PUF team was therefore able to "sit down with" him for a few minutes and get his take coping with the current crisis and just as important, what lies ahead for the utilities industry.

PUF's Steve Mitnick: How is the coronavirus crisis affecting your typical day?

Casey Herman: My days are just as busy as they've ever been, but probably are not quite as enjoyable. It's nice to talk to people on virtual video meetings and telephone calls, but it's not the same as personal interaction.

Our work is getting done and it's had little impact on our ability to deliver our services to our clients. We feel fortunate that we were well prepared because we've been digitizing the way we deliver services to our clients for quite some time and had invested heavily in this area over the last several years.
