PUF's Steve Mitnick: You're the chairman of the EEI financial conference this year. You also have a day job. How's that going?

Steve Young: It's been really interesting — and an honor to be asked. It's my first time as Chair and I've had a lot of help. The EEI staff has been fabulous — they know how to organize these events and I've had members of my team in investor relations and corporate communications helping to make it a success, too.

We've collaboratively worked together, and many of my peers have been on committees to help put the agendas together. It's been a collaborative effort to identify interesting panels and panelists.

PUF: Everybody was talking about how great the sessions were.

Steve Young: They were outstanding panels and we covered some topical issues. I enjoyed the customer panel in particular. The team shared some insights from outside of our industry that are coming to fruition for us.

PUF: Lynn Good [Duke Energy CEO] often talks about the importance of customer-centricity.

Steve Young: That's right. Lynn has brought the customer to the forefront of the industry in a way that I haven't seen before. It's exciting to see how we as an industry are aligning to put the customer first.

PUF: This is a huge conference and I heard that as many as a hundred or more analysts came to see you and Lynn, and it's growing too.
