Evolution and Revolution
Jennifer Potter is a commissioner at the Hawaii PUC.
PUF gathered a number of great minds from the Grid Evolution Summit and asked them why they were there, and how innovation is changing the utility industry.
PUF: What made you want to come to the Grid Evolution Summit?
Commissioner Potter: Definitely knowledge transfer. There's an exchange between utilities. This is a great opportunity to mingle again with utilities. That's where I came from. That's where my foundation is. Being able to learn from the utilities and the changes that they're making.
This morning I was seated next to Brian Hannegan, the CEO of Holy Cross Energy, who is implementing an amazing suite of innovative ideas. And to learn what's possible from technology vendors, from utilities that are implementing programs, to the software. The solution developers. That's a huge benefit as a regulator to sink back into that space and take that to where we need to go in Hawaii and set a vision.
