PUF: First, give us some background on NYPA, a unique utility?

Guy Sliker: We work closely with our customers. I'm talking about our energy services customers, which includes our supply customers, as well as any public entity in New York State.

Our supply customers are the public sector facilities in Westchester County and New York City, New York's municipal utilities and rural cooperatives, as well as various public and private entities participating in our economic development programs. Most public facilities outside of NYC and Westchester are not supply customers of ours. We don't sell them electricity. We do have statutory authority to provide them energy services, and we do.

We spend three hundred million dollars plus per year investing in energy efficiency with the public sector in New York. That includes state universities, school districts, the Office of General Service buildings, state prisons, etc.
