Commissioner
PUF: How are you attracting new Staff and getting them excited about public service?
Commissioner Eubanks: I don't want to overshadow the work of our extraordinary Staff that's been at the Commission for many decades. They've been an incredible resource for us.
Fortunately, we've had a lot of overlap. Some of the junior Staff has had the opportunity to learn directly from them. Some of these are wonderful pairings between junior and senior Staff members.
The fundamental change in the energy industry is providing not only opportunities for younger workers to advance somewhat rapidly within public service, but also to become engaged in really new technologies. We're competing with Silicon Valley for talent.
We have this modernized, high-tech system, and we need to have the type of workforce that can deal with that. It's the combination of the excitement of the new energy landscape that we have, in addition to the ability to serve the public.
