Most people think of December as holiday time and all the parties and gift giving that brings with it. PUF staff being fortuitously located across the river from the District of Columbia with easy access to all its exciting goings-on, thinks conferences.

With great anticipation, we packed up our cell phones and notebooks and attended four conferences since wrapping up the December issue of PUF. Combined with editor-in-chief Steve Mitnick heading north to Maine to bring readers a Day at the Maine PUC, there was a lot of movement.

So many conferences, panelists, speakers to share with you. Where to start? The Edison Electric Institute celebrated 1 Million Vehicles on U.S. Roads at the amazing Newseum on November 30. There was a head-spinning array of speakers crammed into a busy morning.

The event featured a C-Suite Cartalk with Jill Anderson, VP, Southern California Edison, Alan Oshima, CEO, Hawaiian Electric, Terry Sobolewski, senior VP, chief customer officer, National Grid, and Anne Pramaggiore, CEO, Exelon Utilities. It was moderated by Lisa Wood, EEI VP, customer solutions.

That was just one panel! There was much more from automakers of course, EPRI's senior VP Arshad Mansoor, CMS Energy VP public affairs Roger Curtis, Michigan PSC 's Norman Saari, NASUCA's Elin Katz, policymakers, legislators, infrastructure companies and more.
