The Electric Power Research Institute in April elected Tennessee Valley Authority chairman Craven Crowell to serve as its chairman. Crowell previously served as chairman of EPRI's Membership and Strategic Issues Committee, and was vice chairman of EPRI's Executive Committee.

Floyd Nickerson, vice president of corporate resources for CSW Energy/ International, has been named state president for Ohio at American Electric Power, effective upon the merger of AEP and Central and South West Corp. Nickerson succeeds Marsha Ryan, who has been named senior vice president of customer operations.

Peter M. Scott III has been named Carolina Power & Light's chief financial officer. Scott is founder of Scott, Madden & Associates, a firm that has advised CP&L on energy matters for two decades.

Malyn Malquist in April resigned as president and chief operating officer of Sierra Pacific Resources Corp. to pursue other opportunities. Malquist also was president of Sierra Pacific Power Co. and Nevada Power Co.
