SouthWest Water Company is hiring a Director of Regulatory Affairs to help lead the regulatory affairs function. The Company provides a broad range of operations, maintenance and management services, including water production, treatment and distribution; wastewater collection and treatment; customer service; and utility infrastructure construction management. Their utility divisions own and operate regulated water and wastewater systems representing hundreds of thousands of residential and business connections in four states: Alabama, California, Oklahoma, and Texas. Customer rates, service and water quality are generally regulated by state agencies.
The Director of Regulatory Affairs is a newly created position and will assist the Vice President of Regulatory Affairs in providing key leadership for SouthWest Water Company to ensure revenue requirements are approved by the respected regulatory agencies. These revenue approvals will position the Company for continued growth, meet capital requirements for infrastructure improvements, and provide continued resources for superior customer service across all service areas. Partnering with the Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, this role has significant financial and strategic long-term impact to the Company. This role is also responsible for supporting critical, highly sensitive external regulatory relationships.
The most qualified individual will have:
- minimum of eight years of direct involvement dealing with a regulatory commission. experience which provides a thorough knowledge of regulatory filings, management, and accounting principles, regulatory theory and practice.
- thorough knowledge of all applicable regulatory and governmental regulations affecting the Company.
- a major in Accounting or Business Administration.
